The home of the San Diego Padres will return to full capacity on June 17! When the local baseball team takes the field on Thursday, June 17, against the Cincinnati Reds, they will do so in front of a stadium that will now accommodate 100% capacity. It’s been more than a year and a half since Padres fans have been able to fill Petco Park. The upcoming milestone of full capacity will be marked as part of the team’s “San Diego’s Opening Day” celebration.

During the June 17 to 20 four-game series against the Reds, there will be plenty of festivities to welcome back the masses to Petco Park. On June 17, fans will be treated to pre-game DJ entertainment at the Sycuan Stage in Gallagher Square, as well as a Padres “Full Opening Day” ceremony. This means more than 250 active-duty military members will help unfurl the American flag prior to the first pitch. Plus, Padres fans can look forward to a military flyover and post-game fireworks show.

The Padres will kick off summer fun at Petco Park by hosting the first BeerFest of the season, a pre-game happy hour in Gallagher Square, on June 18. Then, over the weekend and throughout the remainder of the season, fans can look forward to more promotions and exciting events taking place. So be sure to catch a few ball games this year at Petco Park and support our San Diego Padres throughout the summer and into a pennant push.
